Several UNP operatives of the North Western Province including Stalwart Ashoka Vadigamangawa and several JVP operatives including Parliamentarian K.D. Lalkantha's Private Secretary Hiran Padmakumara have joined the Freedom Alliance.
They joined the Alliance at the victorious rally staged at the Public Esplanade in Anuradhapura and presided by the President. They assured the President to dedicate their services for a resounding victory of the Freedom Alliance in the North Central and Sabaragamuwa Provincial elections. Palaagala JVP organiser Jaanaka Dissanayake, the JVP Mahakanadarawa organiser Ajith Senadeera, a top JVP activist Cyril Rajapakse and former UNP Parliamentarian for the Kekirawa electorate Tissa Wijesinghe were among those who joined the Freedom Alliance and pledged support for the party's victory.
