Raipur, 23 May 2008 - Leader of Lok Sabha And former Deputy Prime Minister of India Shri Lal Krishna Advani is to launch today (23.05.2008)the Chhattisgarh statewide “Vikas Yatra, The Development Journey” from tribal-dominated south Bastar district headquarters Dantewada with auspicious worship, Puja Archana of Danteshwari Mandir.
Chief minister of Chhattisgarh Dr Raman Singh will welcome Shri Advani at Jagdalpur, Bastar. Both will move to Dantewada by helicopter. Shri Advani will green flag the journey. Vikas Yatra the Hindi term means The Development Journey is 19 day long start from Bastar and ends on 29 June at Surguja both tribal dominated districts of Chhattisgarh State.

Unprecedented safety arrangements are provided to the journey. The purpose built vehicle called the Rath is imported from Gujarat.
