Raipur, May 12, 2008 - Mr. Ramendra Pandey made courtesy call on Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh on return from the North Pole adventure and exciting travel. He is resident of Chhattisgarh belongs to Belgahana situated in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh state.
Mr. Pandey is an engineer in the Indian Navy, and currently working Lonawala (Pune). Mr. Ramendra Pandey told Dr. Raman Singh that he reached the North Pole along with the Indian Navy 10-member expedition team on April nine 2008. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh extended his congratulations and good wishes to Mr. Ramendra Pandey on return from the courageous travel from the north pole.
Mr. Ramendra Pandey told The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr. Raman Singh that his team has difficult terrain and tough conditions, they traveled about 130 km journey on foot. The temperature on north pole is below zero and there is just snow the snow. Currently the North Pole is in the 6-month-day running.
He said his team left by plane for Norway's capital Oslo on 23 March 2008. The expedition consisted of the Indian Navy's three officers and seven sailors. Three young team members have also a wining journey on Mount Everest.
Mr. Pandey has told The Chief Minister, that he also wish to put tricolor flag on Mount Everest in the near future. The Chief Minister gave good wishes him for this also.
